Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to perform vascular and general diagnostic ultrasound procedures for adults and children. You will work under the Vascular Lab Clinical Manager and Radiology leadership, applying sound waves to aid radiologic diagnosis with independence and professional judgment.

Qualified candidates will hold RVT or RVS registration, ARDMS in Abdomen or OB/GYN, and a diploma from an ultrasound program, with completion within one year of

• Must be registered in RVT or RVS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiac Credentialing International).
• ARDMS registration in Abdomen (AB) or OB/GYN is required and must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Diploma from Ultrasound education program.

Responsibilities

• Performs vascular and general diagnostic ultrasound procedures for adult, geriatric, pediatric and adolescent patients.
• Works under the direction of the Vascular Lab Clinical Manager and Radiologist/Ultrasound Clinical Coordinator.
• Applies prescribed sound waves for radiologic diagnosis with independence and initiative; takes responsibility for designated areas or procedures.

Job Summary

Performs both vascular and general diagnostic Ultrasound procedures on adult, geriatric, pediatric and adolescent patients. Performs vascular Ultrasound procedures under the direction of the Vascular Lab Clinical Manager. Preforms general Ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Radiologist and/or the Ultrasound Clinical Coordinator. Must perform variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed sound waves for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.

Required Qualifications

Require registration in Vascular Technology by either accrediting body:- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RVT)- Cardiac Credentialing International (RVS)Require registration in Diagnostic Medical Sonography by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), and must hold at least one (1) of the following upon hire:- Abdomen (AB)- Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)Both of the above registries must be obtained within one (1) year from hire.
- Require diploma from Ultrasound education program.

Preferred Qualifications

• - Prefer experience in both vascular and general ultrasound.

Required License and Certs

• BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
• RDMS: Reg Diag Med Sonographer

Float position - required to float to several of our outpatient Ultrasound locations when needed.
