Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Multi-Skilled Technician for the General Surgical department. The role combines patient care with administrative support to ensure smooth unit operation and quality patient experiences.

Mandatory licensure or eligible nursing student criteria apply, with a Florida CNA license required within 120 days of graduation for certain tracks. Background screening is mandatory for all care providers.

Qualifications

• Must hold Florida licensure as CNA, EMT, or Paramedic, or National EMT licensure; must be active during employment.
• Nursing students eligible for CNA exam must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program and meet specified progression requirements.
• PCT/CNA certification with Florida CNA license obtained within 120 days of graduation is required.
• Employees hired before 11/11/19 may be grandfathered and can pursue the licensure as required later.
• Preferred: ability to assess and interact with specific patient populations; working knowledge of commonly used computer applications; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Job Summary

The Multi-Skilled Technician is an experienced health care worker who provides both patient care and administrative support.

Required Qualifications

• - Require one of the following:
• 1.) Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment;
• or 2.) Nursing students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to: a.) currently be enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN); b.) have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN and c.) cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN;
• or 3.) Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification: Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation.
