Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center is seeking a dedicated healthcare assistant to support clinical teams and patients. You will take vital signs and assist with routine procedures under close supervision, while keeping patient areas clean and organized.

The role requires basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills with on‑the‑job training of four to six weeks. Strong interpersonal communication with patients and staff is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
• Four to six weeks on the job training to acquire the skills necessary to perform job functions.
• Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients, visitors and hospital personnel.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist patients under close supervision.
• Maintain patient and service rooms in clean, orderly condition per policies.
• Perform basic respiratory therapy procedures, chest x-rays, EKGs and venipuncture.
