Job summary

Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, AL is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support clinical testing efforts. You will review requisitions, collect specimens via venipuncture, and ensure proper labeling and transport to the laboratory.

The role requires a high school diploma, reading/writing and arithmetic skills, one year of experience, and strong interpersonal abilities to interact with patients and staff. Training provided; candidates must perform routine lab duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and perform arithmetic calculations to identify patients, weigh and record vital signs.

Qualifications for the job...

• High school education or equivalent required.Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations at a level acquired through a high school education. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations to perform functions of job such as patient identification, determine weight and vital signs, etc.
• One year experience required.
• Interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with patients, visitors and hospital personnel. Require knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures and techniques.
