Job summary

The State of Wyoming is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to preserve and repair state facilities in Cheyenne. Under limited supervision, you will perform preventive maintenance on roofs, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, doors, and hardware, and respond to repair requests to keep buildings safe and functional.

This position requires planning, cost estimation, procuring parts, documenting work, and complying with federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a skilled trades field or related program.
• 0-2 years of progressive work experience in skilled trades.
• 2-4 years of progressive work experience as substitution.

Responsibilities

• Perform interior and exterior building maintenance tasks including windows, walls, ceilings, floors, doors and hardware.
• Provide preventive maintenance such as caulking, drywall repair, painting, and furniture installation.
• Perform snow removal and assist with grounds duties as needed.
• Read plans and manuals to guide maintenance work and inspections.
