Job summary

Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform a wide range of repairs and housekeeping across our facilities.

You will support Maintenance Technicians, oversee vendor work for quality, and assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal and grounds care. The role requires a minimum of three years in maintenance/construction, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of maintenance work, housekeeping, or construction experience.
• Trade or Technical School Certificate in refrigeration/construction preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
• Background check may be required and drug-free workplace policy may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and housekeeping on interior and exterior of facilities.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians and supervise/vendor work for quality and completeness.
• Perform snow removal and ice treatment of walkways and entrances.
• Repair/replace floor tiles, windows, and plumbing fixtures; troubleshoot electrical equipment.
• Maintain tools, vehicles and worksite areas, and ensure safe conditions.
