Job summary

Manucomm Recruitment in the Taunton area seeks a practical, multi-skilled engineer for a varied role in a cider production operation. This is 32 hours over four days, Monday to Thursday, with Friday off, and a pay range of £15–£18 per hour. The role is based in pleasant Somerset surroundings. You’ll be hands-on and versatile, with duties across production and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance experience is essential.
• Experience with welding, fabrication or metalwork is preferred.
• Ability to work across various disciplines including carpentry and basic plumbing.

Multi-Skilled Engineer – 4 Day Week 32 hours

£15–£18 per hour | Monday–Thursday | Friday OFF

Taunton area | 7:30am–4:00pm

A job where no two days are the same.

We're looking for a practical, multi-skilled engineer to join our team in beautiful Somerset surroundings.

This is far from a typical maintenance role. You'll support a small successful cider production operation, but because the business this role has many different facets, your work will be incredibly varied.

One day you could be repairing production machinery; the next you might be fixing agricultural equipment, welding, fabricating, carrying out carpentry, basic plumbing or helping with building and facilities maintenance.

What you'll be doing

• Mechanical maintenance and repairs
• Cider production equipment maintenance
• Agricultural/farming equipment repairs
• Welding, fabrication, metalwork and lathe work

• Basic plumbing and building repairs
• Facilities and general handyman work
• Basic electrical tasks
• General fault finding and problem solving

About you

We're looking for someone with good mechanical experience and a practical, can-do attitude.

You don't need to be an expert in everything, but experience in several of the following would be ideal:

Mechanical maintenance | Welding | Fabrication | Metalwork | Lathe work | Carpentry | Plumbing | Building repairs | Basic electrics

This could suit a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Technician, Agricultural Engineer, Workshop Engineer or experienced Maintenance Technician.
