Job summary

Neighborcare Health in Vashon Island is seeking a School-Based Health Center Coordinator II to support operations across multiple school sites. This full-time, on-site role provides advanced administrative and clinical coordination to health providers, students, families, and school partners.

You will oversee patient check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, and onboarding of new coordinators, while participating in quality improvement and community engagement efforts within the SBHC network.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ambulatory clinic operations experience with scheduling experience within EMR/EDR.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, healthcare administration, public administration, business, or a related field.
• Effective problem-solving with sound judgment and independence.
• Highly organized with strong multitasking ability.
• Comfortable working across multiple sites and adapting to changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, professional presence to students, families, school staff, and community partners.
• Manage patient check-in processes, demographic updates, registration forms, and insurance verification.
• Support patient access by scheduling appointments, coordinating walk-ins, and facilitating follow-up care.
• Ensure clinics are prepared for daily operations, maintaining clean and organized patient-facing areas.
• Respond to in-person and telephone inquiries with excellent customer service.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and process evaluations.
• Assist program leadership by identifying operational issues and supporting implementation.
• Support orientation and training efforts for new clinical staff regarding SBHC workflows and procedures.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new Health Care Coordinators, ensuring consistency in clinic processes.
