Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus seeks a Patient Access Coordinator for the James Cancer Hospital. You will support registration across ambulatory and inpatient sites with flexible shifts from 5:30 a.m.

to 9:30 p.m., including occasional weekends and holidays. You will gather demographic and insurance information, schedule return and other appointments, assist physicians and patients in one transaction, troubleshoot routine problems, and use EMR and registration

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 0 years of relevant experience required.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to use EMR and scheduling/registration software.

Responsibilities

• Schedule return appointments and other appointments as assigned.
• Assure accurate demographic and insurance information is gathered to support clinical and financial needs.
• Coordinates requests for physicians and consumers in one transaction.
• Solves routine and complex customer problems and knows where to direct customers to address questions.
• Creates a positive first impression and uses EMR and registration systems.
