Job summary

Software Placement Group is seeking a hands-on Multi-site Operations Manager to provide senior leadership across three manufacturing facilities and roughly 150–170 production employees. This is a profitable, well-run operation with strong customer relationships and a workforce ready for the next stage of leadership development.

Overview

An established, growing 200 person durable goods manufacturer is seeking a hands-on Multi-site Operations Manager to provide senior leadership across three manufacturing facilities and approximately 150–170 production employees. This is a profitable, well-run business with strong customer relationships and a receptive workforce ready for the next stage of leadership development.

What you'll do

• Report directly to the President and provide senior operational leadership across three manufacturing facilities
• Lead Production Managers across day, night and weekend operations
• Oversee safety, quality, productivity, staffing and labor efficiency
• Manage cost control and drive continuous improvement
• Support manager-development initiatives across the organization
• Spend time learning the organization before driving thoughtful improvement
• Maintain a visible, floor-based leadership presence
• Build engagement and accountability across teams without becoming authoritarian or overly passive

Required qualifications

• Experience in multi-site manufacturing environments
• Background in metal fabrication, building products, HVAC equipment, engineered-to-order products, industrial components, or comparable durable-goods manufacturing
• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Experience with manager-development
• Strong leadership ability; analytical, patient, and decisive approach

Preferred qualifications

• A degree is preferred but not required; UW–Stout alumni are especially attractive
