Job summary

Control Devices, LLC is seeking a hands-on Materials Manager to lead two critical supply chain functions—Materials Management and Transportation & Logistics—across multiple facilities in the St. Louis area.

You will drive inventory accuracy, warehousing efficiency, and strategic logistics improvements. The role evolves toward enterprise-wide materials leadership, owning processes, systems, and relationships with 3PLs and suppliers while delivering cost, service, and visibility improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in materials management, transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience with multi-site manufacturing or distribution environments.
• Experience with TMS, ERP, and inventory management processes.
• Leadership experience managing and developing teams in a manufacturing environment.
• APICS/ASCM CLTD, CPIM, or similar certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead materials management across two St. Louis-area facilities, including receiving, warehousing, and inventory management.
• Directly coach and develop materials personnel and establish performance expectations.
• Improve inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and root-cause analysis of variances.
• Drive reduction of excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.
• Lead transportation and logistics initiatives to optimize cost and service across sites.
• Manage 3PLs, customs brokers, and inbound transportation, ensuring compliance and KPI tracking.
• Own Transportation Management System, Freight Audit & Pay, and provider management processes.
• Develop and monitor transportation KPIs, scorecards, and service-level performance.
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, Planning, and Finance to improve supply chain performance.
