Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC is seeking a Materials Control Manager to lead a team of supervisors across sites, overseeing production materials for trailers and chassis. You will driveKanban and lean initiatives, plan inventory and scheduling, and collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering and Quality to ensure on-time delivery and cost control.

Strong ERP/MRP experience and excellent communication are essential to succeed in this role within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, management, or related discipline.
• APICS certification a plus.
• Minimum 5 years progressive experience in materials and logistics management within design/manufacturing.
• Experience in Lean, total quality, Six Sigma or similar environments.
• ERP/MRP systems knowledge in manufacturing, forecasting, and order policy codes.
• Knowledge of KanBan and supplier managed inventory.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of industry best practices and technology trends.
• Cost modeling and make-vs-buy analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Material Control Supervisors across sites to manage materials for production and assembly.
• Develop plans for material presentation, delivery, and storage using lean principles.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and suppliers to implement Kanban and lean methods.
• Oversee storage plans and material planning within sites using lean practices.
• Develop systems and processes supporting inventory forecasting, purchasing and control.
• Prepare customer delivery reports and communicate potential late deliveries.
• Coordinate production scheduling by monitoring inventories and progress.
• Work with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery.
• Ensure inventory count accuracy with an effective control system.
• Collaborate on materials budgets, expenditures, variances, and corrective actions.
• Participate in MRB and CAR meetings to resolve quality issues.
• Drive cost reduction targets with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain safe work environment and compliance with EH&S regulations.
• Attend scheduled work hours and maintain good attendance.
