Job summary

Circularix is seeking a Manufacturing Safety Specialist to support multiple sites across the Northeast US, focusing on reducing risk and strengthening safety culture. The role partners with site leadership, operations, maintenance, engineering, and employees to implement standardized safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will lead audits, training, incident investigations, and safety documentation while driving continuous improvement and employee engagement on the manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
• Three or more years of safety experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related environment.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety programs (lockout/tagout, machine guarding, hazard communication, PPE, confined space, powered industrial trucks, emergency preparedness).
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments, safety training, and incident investigations.
• Strong communication, coaching, documentation, and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments at assigned sites to identify hazards and compliance gaps.
• Develop, implement, and standardize safety policies, procedures, programs, and work instructions across locations.
• Partner with site leadership to ensure OSHA, EPA, state/local, and company safety requirements compliance.
• Lead or support incident, injury, near-miss, and property damage investigations using root cause analysis and corrective action tracking.
• Develop and deliver safety training for employees, supervisors, contractors, and new hires, including hazard communication and lockout/tagout.
• Monitor corrective actions to completion and verify effectiveness through follow-up reviews and field observations.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspection reports, training records, incident reports, OSHA logs, safety metrics, and regulatory records.
• Support safety committees, toolbox talks, employee engagement activities, and behavior-based safety initiatives.
• Review new equipment, process changes, layout changes, and capital projects for safety risks and recommend controls.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, HR, and leadership to integrate safety into daily work practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Track leading and lagging safety indicators, identify trends across sites, and prepare reports for management review.
• Assist with emergency preparedness planning, drills, contractor safety, chemical safety, industrial hygiene activities, and environmental compliance support as needed.
