Job summary

Diversified Maintenance is seeking a Janitorial Area Manager to oversee cleaning operations across multiple customer locations in the Baton Rouge area. This hands-on leadership role leads teams, manages staffing and scheduling, maintains quality standards, and builds strong relationships with customers to ensure exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of management experience in a service-related industry, preferably janitorial.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent customer service and active listening abilities.
• Ability to lead and encourage teamwork; capable of resolving conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee janitorial operations and employees across multiple customer locations.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach and develop janitorial team members.
• Visit assigned customer sites regularly to ensure service and quality standards.
• Build relationships with customers and resolve service concerns promptly.
• Manage employee schedules and staffing within labor budgets.
• Conduct quality-control inspections and ensure required site visits are completed.
• Lead new-hire orientation, safety training and ongoing job training.
• Review employee performance and create development or improvement plans.
