Job summary

NEFCO is seeking a Facilities Specialist to oversee upkeep, maintenance, and efficient operations of buildings, equipment, and grounds within the NEFCO regions. You will ensure availability and reliability of operational equipment, manage safety compliance, and coordinate with contractors.

The role involves preventative maintenance, responding to service requests, budgeting for maintenance, and collaborating with the Safety Manager to ensure all locations adhere to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in facilities management across multiple locations.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and safety protocols.
• Ability to diagnose issues, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.
• Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for internal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) and coordinate trades for complex issues.
• Oversee general upkeep of facilities, grounds, security systems, utilities and other structures.
• Receive and prioritize maintenance requests, assign work orders, and track completion.
• Respond to emergencies related to fire, safety, or other building issues and follow proper procedures.
• Coordinate with external contractors, obtain bids, and oversee project completion.
