Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Specialist to sustain and improve the company’s buildings, yards, and assets across four scrap yard locations. This is a hands-on, multi-site role emphasizing carpentry, painting, landscaping, and basic repairs.

The ideal candidate will be versatile, safety-minded, and capable of managing projects across facilities. Welding experience is strongly preferred, and travel between sites will be required.

Qualifications

• General handyman and maintenance skills.
• Experience with construction, carpentry, painting, landscaping, concrete or property maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine practical repair solutions.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects across multiple locations.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between company facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities.
• Complete basic construction, carpentry, framing, trim, and repair projects.
• Repair doors, gates, fencing, walls, ceilings, shelving, cabinets, and other facility components.
• Interior and exterior painting, patching, caulking, and finishing.
• Coordinate with management when a licensed or specialized contractor is required.
• Maintain grounds: landscaping, weed control, parking areas, signage, and common areas.
• Operate welding and fabrication repairs when qualified.
• Assist with facility upgrades, remodels, and improvement projects.
• Build storage areas, workstations, shelving, and other structures as needed.
• Inspect property, maintain tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
