Job summary

Philadelphia Museum of Art is seeking a Senior Director of Exhibition Management to lead the delivery of destination exhibitions across PMA sites. This role connects creative vision with operational excellence, guiding projects from brief through opening and deinstallation with a focus on accessibility, sustainability, and visitor experience.

You will manage Exhibition Planning and Exhibition Design, maintain multi-year plans and budgets, collaborate with Curatorial, Registration, Collections,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (arts administration, museum studies, architecture/design management or related field).
• 10+ years of senior-level exhibition planning experience, including 5+ years managing managers.
• Experience delivering high-volume multi-site programs with multi-million-dollar budgets.
• Strong skills in critical-path scheduling, resource loading, risk management, contracting, and vendor oversight.

Responsibilities

• Manage the departments of Exhibition Planning and Exhibition Design.
• Guide each project from kickoff to opening and deinstallation with milestones.
• Set clear deliverables and roles using a RACI chart; manage risk, changes and vendors.
• Maintain a master calendar and budget, track schedule and variances.
