Job summary

The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking a Director of Education Operations to provide strategic leadership across Amesbury and Georgetown education programs. The role oversees multiple Site Coordinators, coaching and developing leaders, ensuring safety, quality, and financial sustainability across locations.

You will drive planning, enrollment growth, staff development, and community partnerships while maintaining compliance with EEC licensing and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of management experience in early childhood, school-age, after-school, or youth programming; nonprofit/y.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across Amesbury and Georgetown education programs.
• Directly oversee and support multiple Site Coordinators with coaching, feedback, and accountability.
• Develop Site Coordinators into confident leaders who manage teams and programs.
• Establish expectations and performance standards with accountability.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess operations and ensure consistency across locations.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, professional development, and succession planning.
• Foster collaboration through communication, teamwork, and shared accountability.
• Lead strategic planning and continuous improvement for Early Learning and Out-of-School Time programs.
• Partner with Site Coordinators to strengthen enrollment, staffing, and participant experience.
• Review data to identify opportunities and develop improvement strategies.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, contractual requirements, and safety standards.
• Identify operational challenges and develop practical, sustainable solutions.
• Oversee program budgets, enrollment, staffing plans, expenses, and revenue.
• Monitor financial indicators and use data to strengthen performance.
• Promote safety and regulatory readiness across locations.
• Build relationships with EEC, school districts, municipalities, and community partners.
• Represent the YMCA at meetings and lead fundraising, grants, and engagement initiatives.
