Job summary

PPG is seeking a Plant Facilities Engineer to oversee the planning, maintenance, and safety of the manufacturing campus. You will manage buildings, utilities, and infrastructure to ensure reliable operations and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include leading capital projects, developing preventive maintenance programs, contractor oversight, and ensuring fire, environmental, and building code standards are met. Collaboration with EHS and cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering.
• 3–7 years of experience in facilities or plant engineering within manufacturing.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar design tools, CMMS, and project management tools.
• CFM, PE, or LEED certifications preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of plant buildings, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure.
• Manage plant utility systems including compressed air, steam, water treatment, natural gas, and electrical distribution.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute facility improvement and expansion projects from concept through commissioning.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for all facility-related equipment and systems.
• Source, manage, and oversee external contractors and vendors for facility-related services and projects.
• Ensure all facility operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations including building codes, fire safety, and environmental standards.
• Partner with EHS to maintain a safe working environment and support audits and inspections.
• Develop and manage the facilities maintenance and capital budget; identify cost-saving opportunities.
