Job summary

The Asphalt Plant Utility Person at Sunrock will handle day-to-day maintenance, preventive tasks, and housekeeping for a plant and may move between locations. You must work safely, follow procedures, and communicate issues to supervisors.

Overtime and weekend work possible, with occasional overnight travel up to 10%. High school diploma preferred; basic mechanical knowledge and ability to read and write in English are important.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to read and comprehend English.
• Must be able to use hand tools and operate basic plant equipment.
• Ability to communicate issues to supervisor and work with others.

Responsibilities

• Complies with safety policies and reports unsafe conditions.
• Keeps a clean and orderly work area and supports housekeeping requirements.
• Inspects and assists in maintenance of plant equipment and rolling stock.
• Learns and reports on equipment malfunctions and helps with repairs.
• Loads/unloads products and supplies; operates plant conveyors and related equipment.
• Provides leadership by example and shares knowledge with others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
