Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform high-quality X-ray and CT imaging in a fast-paced Emergency and Urgent Care setting in Summerville, SC. You will ensure patient comfort and safety, explain procedures, and prepare patients for exams.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program, ARRT and SCRQSA registrations, and BLS certification.

Job Description Summary $10,000 sign‑on bonus + up to $5,000 relocation assistance available Full Time - Day & Night Shifts Available. MUSC Health Emergency and Urgent Care, a part of MUSC Health Charleston Medical Center Downtown, is dedicated to delivering the highest-quality and safest patient care. Located at 1310 N Main Street, Summerville SC 29483, the center offers a seamless, patient-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures in both X‑ray and CT modalities.
• Provide exceptional patient care while ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout imaging procedures.
• Explain imaging procedures clearly to patients and answer questions to promote understanding and cooperation.
• Verify patient information and ensure appropriate preparation prior to examinations.
• Operate X‑ray and CT equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.
• Maintain competency in all assigned imaging procedures and equipment.
• Adhere to radiation safety standards and best practices to minimize patient and staff exposure.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to support timely and accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational policies and procedures.

Education and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Required 2 years minimum experience in diagnostic imaging & CT.
• Preferred experience in emergency, pediatric, and orthopedic exams in both modalities.
• Must be able to produce very high-quality special imaging with little supervision.
• Must be able to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Must be familiar with age specific criteria.

Required Registration/Certification

• Must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) & South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
• Must be registered in both Radiography (ARRT) (R) & Computed Tomography (ARRT) (C).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
