Job summary

Adventist Health Twin Cities is seeking an experienced radiologic technologist to operate X-ray, CT, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, and/or mammography equipment. The role supports department goals and creates an environment for imaging operations to meet objectives.

Candidates must meet licensure requirements, ARRT certifications, and possess a current modality certification with the ability to perform additional modalities. The position is represented by SEIU and requires BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required in radiologic technology.
• BLS certification is required.
• RT license in the state of practice is required.
• ARRT certification is required.
• Must have current certification in one modality and able to perform duties in at least one other advanced modality (CT, Mammography, MRI, NM, Sonography or PET).
• ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R) is required.
• ARRT-CT or ARRT-M or ARRT-MRI or equivalent certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates radiographic, mammographic, CT and/or ultrasound examinations in line with experience and competences.
• Safely transports and transfers patients; tests defibrillator and ensures crash cart readiness; performs mobile imaging as needed.
• Prepares contrast agents for imaging procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Job Summary:

Responsible for the operation of x-ray, computed tomography, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine and/or mammography equipment. Assists in accomplishing departmental objectives and goals. Helps create an environment that enables the medical imaging department to meet operational goals. Performs at least three of the modalities listed on a regular basis. This position is represented by SEIU.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Required
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Preferred
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Three years' technical experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification: Required
• Must have a current certification in one of the modalities and able to perform duties in at least one other advanced modality: Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography(M), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Sonography(S) or Positron Emission Tomography (PET): Required

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions:

• Performs various radiographic, mammographic, computed tomography and/or ultrasound examinations consistent with employee's experience. Performs three modalities competently.
• Safely transports and transfers patients between gurneys and wheelchairs. Tests defibrillator and checks the integrity of crash cart. Performs mobile imaging examinations as necessary.
• Safely prepares contrast agents for Medical Imaging procedures.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
