Job summary

Plymouth Physical Therapy Specialists is seeking a detail-oriented Authorization Specialist to join our team. This role oversees insurance authorizations across multiple clinic locations, ensuring patients receive timely access to care.

You will verify benefits, submit requests through payer portals, track statuses, and collaborate with front office and therapists to keep documentation accurate. Prior experience with medical billing or insurance verifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance authorizations or medical billing preferred.
• Strong understanding of insurance benefits and authorization processes.
• Experience with multiple carriers and payer portals.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple locations, patients, payers, and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, verify, and maintain insurance authorizations for PT services across multiple locations.
• Verify benefits, eligibility, visit limitations, and authorization requirements.
• Submit authorization requests accurately through portals, fax, phone, or payer processes.
• Track status, approved visits, expiration dates, and remaining visits.
• Communicate with insurance companies about pending, denied, or additional requests.
• Collaborate with front-office staff, therapists, and management to keep info current.
