Overview
A commercial construction company specializing in ground-up multi-family projects is seeking a Field Superintendent to oversee a segment of an active jobsite. This role is critical to ensuring that assigned work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the quality standards required for large-scale multi-family, hospital, university dormitory, and hotel construction.
What you'll do
- Refine and implement site planning, logistics, and procedures for execution of the work
- Execute survey and layout plans and verify the work of others
- Monitor and communicate the CPM progress schedule for the assigned portion of work and coordinate with the overall project schedule
- Monitor and enforce the project safety and security program in accordance with company policy and applicable codes and regulations
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractor work
- Refine and implement the project's quality control program, including pre-phase meetings, first day inspections, scheduled inspections, coordination of third-party tests and inspections, and maintenance of a master deficiency log
- Document the quality control program in company software
- Maintain an on-site copy of record documents, including drawings, specifications, submittals, and As-Built drawings
- Assist with submittal review and the RFI process in coordination with the Project Manager/Engineer and Project Superintendent
- Implement plans for jobsite housekeeping, temporary heat and enclosures, temporary power and lighting, material storage/handling/hoisting, and vertical movement (ladders, stairs, lifts)
- Coordinate with the Project Superintendent on self-performed work, including labor and equipment planning, material inventory and control, budget, and code tracking
- Document project performance in coordination with the Project Superintendent
- Prepare daily reports covering time cards, safety inspections, safety training, safety photographs, schedule updates, QA/QC inspections, subcontractor meeting minutes, subcontractor deficiency notices, and owner notices
- Coordinate activities of inspection agencies
- Handle job labor relations and facilitate dispute resolution
- Manage owner acceptance of the work and assist with project closeout
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required
Required qualifications
- Minimum 4 years experience in ground-up commercial/multi-family construction (hospitals, apartments, university dorms, hotels)
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Construction Management or Engineering desired but not required
- Experience using Procore highly desired
- Experience with scheduling software MS Project / P6 highly desired
