Nationwide Realty Investors, the real estate development affiliate of Nationwide, is seeking a Multi-Family Leasing Consultant with sales or leasing experience to join our team in the Arena District and Grandview Yard in Columbus, Ohio. You will greet prospects, qualify leads, present community features, process applications, and support residents with a focus on excellent customer service.

• Demonstrates product knowledge to prospects and closes the sale.
• Secures new resident’s signatures on paperwork prior to move-in.
• Orients new residents to community.
• Answers questions about community, repairs, rent, rules, etc.
• Prepares lease and paperwork for input by Financial Administration Manager.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Description Summary

Job Description Key Responsibilities

• Handles phone inquiries and meets company goals for appointment conversion
• Greets and qualifies prospects by covering all criteria.
• Inspects models and available units every day.
• Communicates related service needs to maintenance supervisor.
• Update availability report, process applications for approvals. (e.g., credit check, rental history, etc.)
• Submits processed applications to the Senior Property Manager for approval.
• Follows up with applicant regarding status.
• Demonstrates product knowledge to prospects for all communities by communicating and selling the features and benefits; closes the sale.
• Secures new resident’s signature(s) on appropriate paperwork prior to move-in.
• Orients new residents to community.
• Answers questions for residents about community, repairs, rent, rules, etc.
• Prepares lease and complete appropriate paperwork and give to Financial Administration Manager for input.
• May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to Senior Property Manager.

Typical Skills and Experiences

• Education: High school diploma.
• License/Designation/Certification: Apartment Management Designation such as National Apartment Leasing Professional (NALP) preferred.
• Experience: Prior leasing or sales experience required.
• Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Understands and aligns with fair housing laws along with state landlord tenant law. Customer service, marketing, closing, strong communicator, ability to self direct.
• Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
• Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.

Job Conditions

Overtime Eligibility: Non Exempt (Eligible)

Working Conditions: Normal office environment and some weekends.

Compensation

Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.

Note on Compensation for Part‑time Roles: Please be aware that the salary ranges listed below reflect full‑time compensation. Actual compensation may be prorated based on the number of hours worked relative to a full‑time schedule.

The national salary range for Consultant, Leasing - Realty Investors: $46,345.00-$70,700.00

The expected starting salary range for Consultant, Leasing - Realty Investors: $46,345.00 - $57,000.00
