Job summary

Cardinale Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Automotive Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of a fast-paced, multi-brand automotive dealership. This leadership role requires attention to detail and hands-on management of the accounting team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of automotive dealership accounting experience, including office management or supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of dealership accounting procedures, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume dealership environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the accounting office, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and reports.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Monitor dealership financial performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with company policies and manufacturer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting regulations, internal controls, and company procedures.
• Work closely with dealership management to support financial planning and operational decisions.
• Train, develop, and support accounting staff while promoting accountability and teamwork.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee daily accounting operations for a multi-brand automotive dealership.

Manage and supervise the accounting office, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements and reports.

Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds Dealer Management System (DMS).

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Previous experience overseeing accounting operations for multiple automotive brands or dealerships.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other accounting software.

Experience implementing efficient accounting processes and utilizing paperless systems.
