Our Charlotte, North Carolina facility houses the A. O. Smith Water Systems Division, where we engineer and manufacture expansion tanks for water heating systems, along with storage and well water tanks.

Responsibilities

This maintenance role requires skilled technician capabilities, including robotics, programming, and specialization, and is safety-sensitive.

  1. Work safely and responsibly using Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, ensuring team safety.
  2. Understand and comply with OSHA, Safety, and PPE requirements of A. O. Smith.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently and safely.
  4. Make proper adjustments to equipment such as hydraulic presses, DOT testers, welders, and gas ovens.
  5. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure machine reliability.
  6. Utilize technical skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems for troubleshooting and repair.
  7. Communicate clearly with team leads regarding equipment issues during production.
  8. Read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints for maintenance and repairs.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulics technical training with 2 years of manufacturing experience; or
  • High school diploma with 5 years of manufacturing experience working with electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and PLCs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work occasional opposite shifts, call-ins, and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
We Offer

Scheduled Hours: 2nd Shift; 3:30 pm - 12:00 am

Pay: Starting at $32.20/hr., depending on experience, plus a $0.75/hr. shift differential
