Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an Electrical Technician in the Atlanta area to maintain machinery and electrical systems, ensuring OEM quality and operational excellence. The role requires 5+ years in Industrial Maintenance and proficiency in PLCs, drives, and IT coordination within a manufacturing setting.

The position is full-time with shifts Monday–Friday 3pm–11pm, overtime and weekends as needed. Veterans are encouraged to apply and a drug screen follows conditional offer.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance.
• High School Diploma or GED; some college or training in a technical field.
• Proficient in English; excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

Responsibilities

• Maintain machinery and equipment, with focus on electrical systems to ensure OEM quality and operational excellence.
• Perform duties of Industrial Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Tech ‘A’.
• Handle PLCs, Drives and computer documentation and maintenance including contractor interfaces.
• Oversee electrical projects including contractor liaison.
• JDE training and oversight and parts room inventory control.
• Manage equipment documentation and act as department IT coordinator.
• Oversee high level electrical troubleshooting and document actions across shifts.

$34-$37/hr DOE

M-F 3p-11p overtime and weekends as needed (Will need to onboard and train on 1st shift 3weeks+)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform duties of Industrial Maintenance Electro-Mechanic Tech ‘A’.
• PLC, Drives and Computer documentation and maintenance including contractor interface.
• Electrical projects including contractor interface.
• JDE training and oversight.
• Parts Room inventory control.
• Management of equipment documentation.
• Department IT coordinator.
• Oversight of high level electrical troubleshooting.
• Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations contributing to overall safety of the Plant.

EDUCATION And / Or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED; some college or training in a technical field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance.

Proficient in English; excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

Excellent general math skills

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to trouble shoot, schedule and plan maintenance.
