The role emphasizes cross-training across millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal, civil trades and related equipment. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and/or related experience, is comfortable working with varied trades, and can read and follow specifications

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
• Cross-trained in millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, sheet metal and civil trades.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings; lay out, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems.

Responsibilities

• Cut, thread and hammer pipe to specifications using tools.
• Assemble and secure pipes and fittings according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing and threading joints.
• Attach pipes to walls and fixtures using brackets or welding equipment.
• Inspect, test and measure installed systems and pipelines for compliance and integrity.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation or repair according to specifications.
