Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician (3rd Shift)

Summary

Join our team as a Multi Craft Maintenance Technician where you will be a versatile asset to the operations team. You will collaborate with various departments, contribute to preventing issues in the plant environment, foster a safe maintenance approach, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a dynamic skill set and problem-solving ability.

Schedule

3rd Shift (Monday - Friday 11:00pm - 7:00am; Weekend overtime required as business needs dictate).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform complex technical tasks and decision-making.
• Achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech III proficiency within 10 months of hire.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and interaction with PLC hardware.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair complex machinery, including AC/DC/Servo Motor Control Systems and Instrumentation Control Systems.
• Collaborate with production associates and other technicians to solve problems with reliability and urgency.
• Investigate and repair electrical and mechanical systems/machinery, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain work records.
• Conduct root cause analysis on system malfunctions and inefficiencies, report unusual or dangerous situations.
• Drive plant and maintenance cost efficiencies.
• Mentor and train lower-level technicians in servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
• Follow safety precautions to minimize exposure to hazards and observe all safety protocols.
• Work all required schedules.

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma or GED, with equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements

• 8+ years in industrial maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, or equivalent military experience.
• Proficiency in hydraulics, mechanics, electrical systems, PLC, welding, and rigging. Maintain Perdue Farms QEW Certification.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Commitment to continuous learning and increasing expertise.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, lifting (50 lbs.), and repetitive tasks.
• Occasional travel between locations, access to files, supplies, and equipment.
• Exposure to wet and moist floors, varying temperatures (28°F to 100°F), humidity, noise (50-110 db), and chemicals used in food processing.
• Use of protective safety equipment as required.
