Job summary

Amcor is seeking a skilled industrial maintenance technician in Kentucky to support production by planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and support systems. You will minimize downtime and maximize productivity while following safety procedures.

The role requires strong electrical knowledge, mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic skills, and proficiency with CMMS and JDE/ scanners.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience or training, with working knowledge of electrical systems (advanced electrical knowledge highly desired).
  • Mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics skill sets developed; experience with hand and power tools is a must.
  • Ability to communicate ideas to non-technical team members and show strong problem identification/resolution.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects and working with cross-functional teams; strong computer skills are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and prioritize maintenance with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Respond quickly to reduce downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Safely perform skilled and semi-skilled duties on production equipment, support systems and facilities.
  • Use CMMS to schedule, track and log work orders; sign parts out with JDE system/scanners.
  • Work with vendors and contractors to resolve issues; train other technicians as needed.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING.

Other duties may be assigned.

  • * This position requires skill progression and testing
  • Interfaces daily with Maintenance Manager to plan and implement work priorities.
  • Attends and participates in daily pre-shift safety meetings.
  • Performs as the key maintenance resource to the production shift assigned, providing accurate and timely responses to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Safely performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled duties related to the maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and repairing of all facility production equipment, support equipment and structures.
  • Uses the company CMMS to schedule, track and log the details of all work issued from the work order system.
  • Utilizes the JDE system / scanner to properly sign parts out of the parts room.
  • Utilizes the correct PPE as required for the job at hand, and properly uses Lockout / Tagout and other safety systems as required by the company.
  • Completes all assigned work in a timely and professional manner, with accuracy and to established standards.
  • Works directly with vendors and contractors as needed to resolve maintenance related issues within the facility or on the equipment.
  • Trains other technicians as needed in tasks where they have high levels of expertise.
  • Orders parts and materials as needed to support PM's, projects, etc.
  • Completes all required paperwork, filing and purging as needed to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Minimum 3 years industrial maintenance experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience, including a working knowledge of electrical systems (advanced electrical knowledge is highly desired), along with developed mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatics skillsets. Experience with hand and power tools a must. Knowledge in machinery used in flexographic printing and blown film manufacturing highly desired.

  • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-technical team members in a clear manner.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Able to apply right mathematical methods and formulas to problem solving.
  • Able to create alternative solutions to problems.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Strong personal and communication skills. Must work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret standard technical documentation such as electrical / pneumatic / hydraulic schematics, blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
