Job summary

A leading packaging solutions provider located in Richmond, Indiana is looking for a skilled technician to handle electrical and mechanical repairs and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment. The ideal candidate should hold an Associate Degree and have experience in troubleshooting both electrical and mechanical systems. Qualifications

  • Six months to three years related experience in electrical/mechanical repairs.

Job Description

To perform electrical and mechanical repairs or preventative maintenance in order to ensure production equipment performs as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Installs, alters, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs electrical and mechanical molding and printing equipment, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC system.
  • Installs and troubleshoots mechanical or electrical support equipment
  • Preventative maintenance in molding.
  • Preventative maintenance in printing.
  • Preventative maintenance for support equipment.

Education and/or Experience

Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. Six months to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education or experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
