Job summary

Amcor is seeking a maintenance-focused professional to improve equipment reliability and asset availability. You will develop efficient maintenance schedules, manage parts inventory, and analyze data to build predictive and preventative programs.

The role requires 5–7 years in manufacturing maintenance, a degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering, and hands-on experience as a maintenance mechanic or electrician.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates or Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited college would meet the formal requirements of this position, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Previous work experience as a maintenance mechanic or electrician.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and assure safe work habits including compliance and improvements to safety procedures and goals.
  • Assure equipment, parts, and personnel are available to complete each work order with minimal downtime.
  • Create and communicate work orders based on maintenance requests and schedules.
  • Review completed work orders for discrepancies and formally close them.
  • Provide technical advice on equipment modification and time estimates on maintenance projects.
  • Prioritize planned work based on availability and safety impact.
  • Coordinate and manage contractor services when needed.
  • Collect data on equipment breakdowns and monitor trends.
  • Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Implement and manage training to grow the maintenance team's knowledge.
  • Monitor progress on difficult projects and output.
  • Coordinate outside contractors for special work or to supplement the team.
  • Support maintenance scheduling with resource planning and continuous improvements.

Job Description

Improve equipment reliability and improved asset availability by: 1) Developing efficient maintenance schedules through the review and planning of work tickets, project timelines and capital authorizations. 2) Actively managing our parts inventory to meet production demands. 3) Improved analysis of the Emaint database to develop predictive and preventative maintenance programs.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Promote and assure safe work habits including compliance and improvements to company and departmental safety procedures and goals
  • Assure that all equipment, parts, and personnel are available to efficiently complete each work order assignment with minimum downtime.
  • Creates and communicates work orders based on maintenance requests, planned maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Review completed work orders for discrepancies compared to plan in regards to time, materials, notes/comments and completion of tasks. Formally closes work orders after review.
  • Provide technical advice on matters relating to equipment modification and time estimates on maintenance projects.
  • Prioritizes planned work based on equipment availability, resources, safety impact and availability of outside contractors if needed.
  • Coordinates and manages contractor services including but not limited to, lawn care, snow removal, fire inspections etc.
  • Collects data on equipment breakdowns.
  • Implement, manage and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs
  • Implement and manage training program to further the knowledge base of the maintenance workforce.
  • Monitor progress on difficult or extended problems and projects
  • Coordinate outside contractors when required for special project work or to supplement maintenance workforce.
  • Support maintenance schedule including guidance of available resources, development of weekly resource schedules and ongoing improvements
  • Coordinates various projects as assigned by Maintenance Manager
  • Monitor the maintenance work schedule for vacations and overtime planning.

  • Must have a strong knowledge of the mechanical crafts and procedures including the millwright trade, pipefitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, sheet metal, and machinist skills.
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of electricity including both A.C. and D.C., electronics, power distribution, and circuitry protection.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of SAP systems.
