Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer to enable cost‑efficient, scalable cloud usage across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will embed FinOps into IaC, CI/CD, and platform workflows, delivering cost allocation, tagging enforcement, anomaly detection, and reporting that drive efficiency across IT and engineering teams.

Responsibilities include cost analysis, observability, and governance, plus collaboration with SRE, Security, and Finance to implement automated controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related technical field.
• 4–5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform operations, SRE, FinOps engineering, or cloud operations roles.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms and cost drivers: compute, storage, databases, networking.
• Hands‑on Python experience for automation and tooling.
• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, databases, Step Functions), CloudFormation, CI/CD concepts.
• Strong data & analytics skills: Excel, SQL, cost modeling/analysis.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight).
• Working knowledge of GitHub and version control practices.
• Understanding of tagging strategies, cost allocation, and showback/chargeback models.
• Ability to scope and deliver moderately complex technical solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day cloud cost and usage analysis across AWS, Azure, and GCP with focus on tagging, anomalies, and optimization.
• Operate and enhance cloud cost observability dashboards and scorecards.
• Investigate cost spikes by correlating architecture and events.
• Ensure cost governance through automation and process improvements.
• Provide engineering guidance on cost, utilization, and patterns.
• Lead optimization initiatives with measurable impact.
• Support Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and commitment strategies.
• Build automation to improve FinOps operations using Python.
• Integrate cost controls and tagging into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Security, Network, and Finance to embed FinOps controls.
