Job summary

Hamilton County Government seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support county projects. You will operate multi-axle trucks and various heavy vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency in loading, hauling, and unloading materials.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, five years of direct experience, and a valid Class B CDL. You’ll perform vehicle checks, preventive maintenance, and assist with snow removal and traffic control as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and five years’ direct work experience in operating commercial motor vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Valid Class B CDL required at time of hire.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and county procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy vehicles and equipment including multi-axle trucks, bulldozers, graders, and rollers safely and efficiently.
• Secure loads, perform vehicle checks, and conduct preventive maintenance.
• Assist in traffic control, snow removal, and work-site logistics as needed.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials delivered.
