Job description

Step into a day where precision and problem‑solving drive every cutFrom the first blueprint review to the final inspection, you’ll guide metallic parts through the complete CNC journey. You’ll set up and run a mix of CNC and special‑purpose machines, tune parameters to hit exact tolerances, and keep equipment performing at its best. Collaboration with engineers and production teammates is part of the rhythm as you resolve machining challenges and maintain an unwavering commitment to shop safety. How your day unfoldsStudy blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to define dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and setup needs.Plan work by applying machine shop theory, shop math, knowledge of material machinability, and proven layout techniques.Lay out workpieces: measure, mark, and scribe reference points to guide each subsequent machining step.Select, align, and secure fixtures, workholding, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories across saws, mills, grinders, burning, and drilling equipment.Set machine controls for speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut; run trial pieces to validate accuracy and refine as needed.Operate and monitor machines to catch malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions; adjust controls to bring parts back into spec.Verify critical dimensions with micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, and other precision instruments, including ID/OD features and surface requirements.Translate general part descriptions into workable specs and sketches when needed; collaborate with engineers and production staff to overcome machining or assembly hurdles.Maintain safe operations by following all safety procedures and regulations.Keep equipment reliable through preventive maintenance, following manufacturer guidelines, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs. What you bring5+ years in manufacturing with hands‑on CNC experience.Ability to edit CNC programs and optimize setups for production runs.Clear, consistent execution of written and verbal instructions.Strong blueprint fluency, especially machining diameters (ID & OD), surfaces, and simple geometric features.Proven capability to machine to tight tolerances and verify with micrometers and depth micrometers.Physical readiness: routinely lift 50 lbs+, work in confined areas, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel.Experience with stainless and tool steel alloys preferred.Proficiencies that set you up for successCNC Machine InstallationMachine Setups for Production RunsMachines & technologies you’ll runCNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)CNC Lathe (2–4 axis)CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)CNC Lathe (5+ axis)Bring your craftsmanship and curiosity—own the setup, own the cut, and own the result.
