Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Program creation & optimization in Mastercam for complex turning work across 2–4 axis lathes.
• Blueprint & model interpretation using ASME Y14.5 GD&T to define tolerances.
• Launch & troubleshooting with machinists to prove out and stabilize processes.
• Maintain CNC programs, posts, setup sheets, and revision history.

You’ll open Mastercam, load a model for a tight-tolerance aerospace or defense component, and architect an efficient, reliable turning process for a single-spindle/turret lathe or a dual-spindle/dual-turret multi-axis platform. By midday, you’re shoulder-to-shoulder with our machinists proving out your program, dialing in toolpaths, feeds/speeds, and workholding. We’re growing fast, offer strong benefits, flexible schedules, and meaningful career pathways, and we hire great people who love building things right.What you’ll ownProgram creation & optimization in Mastercam for complex turning work across both conventional and multi-axis lathe platforms.Blueprint & model interpretation using ASME Y14.5 GD&T to define sequences, datums, tolerances, and in-process verification.Cutting strategy: choose inserts, holders, toolholders, and fixtures matched to machine capability, material, and part geometry.Launch & troubleshooting: partner with machinists on the floor to prove out, adjust, and stabilize processes to customer workmanship and quality standards.Cross-functional collaboration with engineers, machinists, and quality to resolve issues and continuously improve.Documentation rigor: maintain accurate CNC programs, proven posts, setup sheets, and revision history for all assigned jobs.Continuous improvement: track the latest tooling, strategies, and software features that elevate throughput and precision.Compliance: ensure operations align with all applicable safety regulations and industry standards.What you bringExperience: 3–5+ years programming CNC turning (preferably in aerospace, defense, or medical).Software: Mastercam proficiency; familiarity with Gibbs, CAMWorks, or SolidWorks is a plus.Technical depth: strong command of machining processes, materials, and quality standards; adept at diagnosing and optimizing turning operations.Communication: clear, effective collaborator across machinists, fellow programmers, leadership, and suppliers.Education: high school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s in CNC programming, machine tool technology, or related field preferred.Proficiencies: CNC programming, aerospace manufacturing practices, and setting up machines for repeatable production runs.Equipment & technologies you’ll touchCNC Lathes (2–4 axis)CNC Lathe (5+ axis, dual-spindle/dual-turret)CNC Swiss LatheCAM Software (Mastercam primary; exposure to Gibbs/CAMWorks beneficial)ImportantThis is an on-site role requiring hands-on CNC programming and manufacturing planning experience.
