Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Software Engineer II specialized in MuleSoft integration to design, build, and maintain APIs and data flows across systems. The role emphasizes API-led connectivity, security, and scalable architectures.

You will work with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, RAML to define API contracts, and integrate systems such as Salesforce. The position requires experience in DataWeave and CI/CD practices within enterprise SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in application software programming OR High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in application software programming.
• Preferred experience includes Mule API Manager and RAML over Anypoint Studio; Anypoint CloudHub; API Gateway and Management; Mule DataWeave; REST; Salesforce; Java; SQL; Git.
• 3+ years of experience in MuleSoft development and integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint platform.
• Identify, analyze and develop interfaces and integration flows using Mule ESB Anypoint Studio, Mule Connectors, database, Salesforce.
• Develop APIs (system, process and experience layers) aligned with API-led connectivity.
• Apply expertise in integration patterns, API design, DataWeave transformations, and MuleSoft components (Anypoint Studio, API Manager, Runtime Manager).
• Create API specifications using RAML/OAS and design API contracts with governance.
• Develop REST APIs, event-driven integrations and batch interfaces.
• Develop and implement integrations to enable data flow between MuleSoft and Salesforce, ensuring data integrity.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for builds, tests, and deployments to environments like CloudHub.
• Drive change through collaboration, influence, and POCs; focus on scalability, maintainability, testability, security, performance.
