Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Software Engineer II - MuleSoft Engineer to design, develop and manage integrations on the MuleSoft Anypoint platform. You will contribute to API-led connectivity, enforce security policies and optimize performance across systems.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, implement DataWeave transformations, and build scalable REST APIs and event-driven interfaces, with a focus on reliability and SDLC practices in a banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in application software programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in application software programming.
• 3+ years of MuleSoft development experience and integration projects.
• Experience in Banking and Finance Industry preferred.
• Mulesoft certified candidates preferred.
• Knowledge of System Life Cycle Development methodology (Waterfall and Agile).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
• Develop APIs (system, process and experience layers) aligned with API-led connectivity.
• Create API specifications using RAML/OAS and design API contracts.
• Develop REST APIs, event-driven integrations and batch interfaces.
• CI/CD and automation: implement and manage automated pipelines (e.g., CloudHub).
• Collaborate with stakeholders, drive change, and deliver POCs with focus on scalability, security and performance.
