Job summary

Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall in Atlanta is seeking a skilled Barista who loves coffee and delivering friendly, attentive service. You will craft a variety of beverages, maintain equipment, and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

The role emphasizes fast-paced environments, teamwork, and staying current on coffee trends. Previous barista experience is preferred but not required; training is provided. This position requires a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience as Barista or in coffee shop preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing methods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and other beverages to customers according to established recipes and standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and answering any questions about menu items.
• Operate equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and blenders, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness.
• Assist in managing the coffee bar inventory, including ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Stay current on coffee trends, products, and techniques to provide informed recommendations to guests.
• Assist with the preparation of food items, such as pastries and light snacks, if applicable.
• Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
• Effectively communicate with other staff members to ensure smooth operation and customer satisfaction.

Essential Physical Functions:

• Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Will frequently stand, walk, reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data.
• Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, and soy.
• Report to work in a complete required uniform.
• Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of the restaurant.
• Meet personal schedule requirements punctually.
• Be courteous, friendly and pleasant.
