Job summary

Region 7 ESC in Kilgore, TX seeks a Transition/MTSS Specialist to improve outcomes for students with disabilities through data analysis and targeted strategies. The role liaises with LEAs to align general and special education programs, fostering achievement for students with disabilities.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Special Education or related field, and at least five years of related experience, with administrative experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Degree in Special Education or related field is required.
• At least five years of related experience.
• Prefer at least 3 years of administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver services to schools in support of improvement and compliance with accountability intervention requirements.
• Provide leadership in the implementation of regional functions, grants, statewide initiatives, Special Education statewide networks and projects, and the Commissioner’s Priorities.
• Plan and facilitate regional professional development for Region 7 customers based on needs assessment data.
• Provide technical assistance to Region 7 customers in understanding and maintaining compliance with IDEA, ESEA, and other laws.
• Collaborate with LEAs and ESC staff to promote improved student performance.
