Job summary

Discovery Regional HS is seeking a Special Education Program Specialist to provide district-level leadership and technical support for compliance and student outcomes. The role oversees evaluations, benchmarking, professional learning, and transition partnerships connecting students with postsecondary opportunities.

Responsibilities include reviewing IEPs and records for accuracy, monitoring timelines, delivering TA, and coordinating GVRA services with agencies and colleges to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education is required.
• Experience with special education compliance and monitoring.
• Experience conducting achievement assessments or benchmarking.
• Experience with transition planning and postsecondary programming.
• Experience supporting state or federal monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Review IEPs, evaluations, eligibility, and meeting records for compliance.
• Monitor timelines and procedural requirements.
• Provide technical assistance on safeguards and IEP procedures.
• Conduct or assist with academic achievement assessments and benchmarking.
• Analyze student data to inform instructional decisions.
• Lead district-level transition planning to improve postsecondary outcomes.
• Coordinate GVRA services and partnerships with agencies and colleges.
• Connect students with postsecondary resources and supports.
• Develop transition plans aligned with student goals and strengths.
• Deliver professional learning to special education staff and administrators.
• Collaborate with leadership and community partners to strengthen systems.
