Job summary

Avondale School District is seeking a MTSS Paraeducator to support students academically, socially, and emotionally, with a focus on K/1 students. The role reports to the Building Principal and involves reinforcing instructional plans in collaboration with classroom teachers.

The candidate will assist with assessments, reading support programs, and materials development while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in a dynamic school setting.

Qualifications

• Relate to children and adults in a positive manner.
• Training or coursework in early childhood, education or child development.
• Successful experience working with groups of children.
• Skills to support the district's curriculum and instructional approaches.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and reinforce classroom teacher's instructional plan to reach highest potential and proficiency.
• Collaborate with the teacher to reinforce core curriculum and provide small-group support.
• Assist with student needs assessments and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate initiative with individual children and implement reading support programs.
• Maintain records, materials, and assist with development of instructional materials.
• Assist with training paraprofessionals and with parent involvement activities.

Education

Associates Degree preferred
