Job summary

Responsibilities include providing small-group and individualized intervention using SpringMath and Bridges, using screening and progress data to plan instruction, collaborating with teachers, and maintaining documentation. Certification required or emergency permit; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Certification required to teach elementary mathematics in PA or ability to obtain emergency permit.
• Experience in MTSS or similar multi-tiered support framework preferred.
• Ability to use data to drive instruction and monitor progress.

Job Description

The State College Area School District is currently accepting applications for a Long-Term Substitute MTSS-Math Interventionist position.

The MTSS-Math Interventionist provides evidence-based mathematics intervention within the District’s integrated Multi-Tiered System of Supports (i-MTSS) framework. The primary focus of this position is providing direct mathematics intervention to students and completing the planning, progress monitoring, and data analysis necessary to support effective instruction.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Provide small-group and/or individualized mathematics intervention using District-approved resources, including SpringMath and Bridges Intervention.
• Use screening, diagnostic, and progress-monitoring data to identify student needs, plan instruction, monitor student growth, and adjust intervention as appropriate.
• Implement mathematics interventions with fidelity and maintain required student documentation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educators to ensure intervention complements Tier 1 mathematics instruction and supports students across instructional settings.
• Participate in building and District MTSS mathematics meetings and collaborative problem-solving as appropriate.
• Communicate with teachers and families regarding student progress.

The successful candidate will be student-focused, collaborative, organized, and knowledgeable about mathematics instruction and the needs of diverse learners. The ability to establish positive relationships with students and collaborate effectively with colleagues is critical to success in this position.
