Job summary

Indian Prairie School District 204 is seeking an MTSS Instructional Specialist to elevate student achievement and build instructional capacity across the district. The Long Term Sub role focuses on targeted, data-driven support in math, reading, or SEB within an iMTSS framework.

The specialist will guide teachers, analyze student data, mentor staff, and coordinate intervention plans while coordinating resources and time for data-based instruction.

Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License.
• Minimum of 45 years of teaching experience (preferred).
• Advanced degree (preferred).
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary school students and iMTSS principles.

Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct students in math, reading or SEB within a classroom, small group, or one-on-one setting based on building needs.
• Enrich or modify lessons and curriculum as needed to meet individual student needs and varying levels of progress.
• Establish a safe atmosphere conducive to positive learning and act as a role model to ensure normal social and emotional development.
• Facilitate the implementation of student intervention plans and ensure they are matched with specific student needs.
• Regularly access through the district data system student's performance data, learning plan, and progress to date.
• Construct and conduct assessments to evaluate progress and maintain detailed records of student work.
• Monitor the use of interventions through data collection to ensure research-based integrity.
• Collaborate with colleagues including classroom teachers, special education staff, teacher assistants, and paraprofessionals.
• Provide counsel and advice to staff on issues relating to reading, math and SEB curriculum and model effective instructional practices.
• Assist in the coordination of personnel, time, and materials for data-based delivery of instruction.
• Communicate both verbally and in writing with parents and students regarding progress and growth.
• Participate in staff development and school improvement activities to maintain professional growth and incorporate best practices.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education

Illinois Professional Educator License
