Job summary

Aberdeen School District is seeking an MTSS Assistant to support students needing additional help under the supervision of teachers. You will work with individuals and groups to implement lesson plans and reinforce learning objectives in both general and special education settings.

The role requires bilingual abilities, basic clerical skills, and a commitment to student success. The position offers part-time hours with benefits eligibility and a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AA degree, 72 college credits or pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment.
• Post high school training in child development and related training desired.
• Bilingual/Spanish speaking required.
• Skills Test – For Math and/or Reading Authorization

Responsibilities

• Provides support to students within MTSS framework in academic and social/behavioral domains.
• Works with students in small and large groups as well as individually.
• Assists teachers and specialists with implementing academic lesson plans and developing students' behavioral/social skills.
• Adapts classroom work to support and reinforce learning objectives.
• Maintains specialized equipment and student files/records for safe learning environment and Medicaid billing.
• Monitors student activities to ensure safety and address learning needs.
• Performs basic clerical functions and scheduling to support the teacher.
• Utilizes de-escalation techniques when needed in classroom and school locations.
• Assists in developing materials for IEP, FBA, BIP, ERPA, and 504 implementations.
• Uses progress monitoring tools to determine learning outcomes and collect data.
• Promotes prompt and regular attendance.
