Job summary

Inteplast Group in New Hampshire is seeking a Slitter Operator C to set up, operate, and tend extrusion and coating equipment, including rewind/slitter lines. You will work independently and with a team to meet customer specs and timeframes.

The role requires precise monitoring of gauges, measurement tools, and process controls, plus a willingness to work holidays. Training in QA testing ensures film quality meets company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, or tend machines such as rewind/slitter, and auxiliary equipment to convert flat films.
  • Observe machine operations, control boards, and gauges to detect malfunctions and adjust parameters.
  • Load materials into extrusion and coating machines, by proper weighing and adjust feed mechanisms.
  • Follow SOPs to determine film production parameters and document malfunctions.
  • Keep machinery and work area clean; maintain rollers and trays.
  • Ensure film and raw materials meet quality specs with QA testing.

Job description

TITLE: Slitter Operator C
POSITION OBJECTIVE

Machine Operators are critical members of our team. They set up, operate, and tend machines that extrude and coat flat films from synthetic materials.

In this position you will set up and operate production equipment including blown film extruders, silicone coaters, and slitter/rewinders. You will work both independently and with a team to meet and exceed customers' specifications and timeframes.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Operations -Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
  • Controls -The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to precise positions.
  • Ability to Detect Problem -The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Able to work holidays.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Be familiar with rulers, scales, gauges, and other measurement tools.
  • Problem Solving - Identifying problems and reviewing related information to troubleshoot or to alert supervisor.
  • Coordination - The ability of fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up, operate, or tend machines such as rewind/slitter, and auxiliary equipment to convert flat films.
  • Observe machine operations, control boards, and gauges to detect malfunctions such as roll quality, silicone continuity and dimensional tolerances. Adjust machine controls, tensions, and operational parameters as necessary.
  • Load materials into extruding and coating machines, by proper weighing, and adjust feed mechanisms to set feed rates.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures to determine correct film production parameters and quality specifications. Record details of machine malfunctions.
  • Keep machinery and work area clean. Wipe finish rollers with cloths and wash finish trays with solvent when necessary.
  • Ensure quality of film and raw materials meets and exceeds customer and company standards with training in a lab as a QA tester.
