Job summary

Inteplast Group is seeking an Extrusion Technician/Operator to set up film line production and adjust equipment to ensure a quality product. You will learn to operate the IBS Tablet system and review Product Spec Sheets for accurate setups.

The role includes training line operators, monitoring bag weight/printing/seal quality, and supporting the Shift Supervisor while adhering to safety and housekeeping standards. Flexibility for non-standard hours is expected.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 months in house training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; via face to face or telephone.
  • Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to operate a touch screen electronic tablet and other electronic software
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interaction

Responsibilities

  • Set up film line production orders as detailed by Product Spec Sheets.
  • Recognize orders on the IBS Tablet system.
  • Makes appropriate adjustments to the line equipment to produce a quality product
  • Checks the machines for proper working order prior to setting up a line.
  • Helps to direct and train the line operators in production of the product
  • Periodically checks the bag weight, size, printing, strength and seal.
  • Assists the Shift Supervisor as required.
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures and ensures good housekeeping practices
  • Performs other duties as required to support department and plant missions.
  • Must be able to perform visual inspections involving small defects.
  • Complete all other requests by management.
