Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Medical Technologist II MT for the Molecular Pathology Lab. This role focuses on cytogenetics testing (cell culture, FISH, karyotyping) with potential for other assays.

Start date contingent on Florida license; daytime schedule with on-call weekends, and a team-focused environment in a high-volume lab. Candidates should have a relevant degree and accredited technologist training; ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field; completion of a clinical laboratory training program required.
• Applicants with a Biology or Chemistry degree and clinical training/experience will be considered in the appropriate field.
• ACLP/ASCP certification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform STAT and routine moderately and highly complex clinical laboratory testing on biological specimens using manual methods and automated analyzers.
• Report valid and accurate patient results in a timely manner.
• Interact with physicians, nurses and allied health professionals to coordinate testing and interpretation of results.
• Participate in operational support activities to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
