Job summary

The Flint Institute of Music seeks a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) to join our collaborative team. This full-time role designs and implements individual and group music therapy across schools, healthcare facilities, rehab centers, and community programs to support clients' therapeutic goals.

• AMTA-approved degree in Music Therapy (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
• MT-BC credential required
• Trauma-informed care understanding
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group music therapy treatment plans based on client needs.
• Conduct assessments to determine the therapeutic needs and goals of each client.
• Utilize a variety of music-based interventions to support cognitive, emotional, social, and physical well-being.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, educators, and other professionals to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sessions and client progress.
• Participate in community outreach, program development, and advocacy efforts to expand access to music therapy services.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development to stay current with best practices in the field.
• Be punctual and maintain regular attendance for scheduled sessions and administrative work.
